Tonight

I ended the day in
Complete frustration.

Unable to penetrate
Petrified heads,
Desiccated hearts.

Then, all at once...
Rage turned inward...
Depression to thoughts
Of drinking myself numb.

Ending life's struggles
Once and for all.

Tonight,
Lord Jesus,

I let myself simply
Rest in You.

And in Your
Comfort,

Blessed

All the pain
and hurt

I felt today.
